To support ambitious students around the world in achieving their academic goals, we've priced the iCanStudy Pro Membership to be as affordable as possible.

However, we also understand that some students face tremendous challenges in life that limit their enrollment in our program.

For example, we've been contacted by students who live in war-torn countries, whose parents cannot work due to chronic illnesses, or who are experiencing problems as simple as paying rent and making ends meet.

Regardless of their reasons, we want to know what you are going through and how we can help. This commitment to the global community is why we award the iCanStudy Financial Hardship Scholarship to eligible applicants to support their journey in transforming their study skills.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible if your circumstances resonate with the following:

  • You live in a country or state currently under war or risk of significant violence and threat to personal safety.

  • You are in a situation of domestic or parental abuse in which your safety is at risk.

  • You are unable to work due to significant carer responsibilities for unwell or disabled relatives or dependents.

  • You are unable to work due to significant personal illness or disability.

  • You have no disposable income despite regularly working due to significant financial responsibilities for your family to pay for necessary expenses (rent, food, heating, etc.), and your household cumulative annual income is below the median income for your country and the value of your assets is less than one year of annual income.

You are not eligible if you are a fit and able person who lacks money simply because you are a student. Students who are able to pick up part-time work to pay for the membership easily but choose not to due to inconvenience are not eligible.

How do I apply?

If you feel that you are eligible, please apply by emailing help@icanstudy.com.

Your email needs to include all of the following:

  • Your full name

  • Your email address

  • A detailed overview of your current financial situation, including an indication of your disposable income and any factors contributing to your circumstances. (Please include numbers and specify what currency they are in.)

  • A description of the short-term, mid-term, and long-term impacts of your financial circumstances

  • Why do you want to join the iCanStudy program?

  • How would receiving financial support impact your ability to achieve your learning goals?

  • Attached supporting documents to verify the information you've provided (e.g., payslips, hospital records, doctors' letters, government support payments)

Make sure to answer the application questions in as much detail as possible, as this will help us reach a conclusion on your required scholarship tier. Applications that lack detailed information or do not provide adequate documentation will not be considered.

After receiving your submission, our scholarships team will assess your application using a multi-point system to determine the appropriate level of financial support for an iCanStudy membership.

*Sometimes, we may ask for more documentation to support your application. The safest form of financial information you can provide is an income tax summary supplied by your government's tax department. Any individual who earns any amount of income (even in the form of government benefits) will have an income tax summary, even if you are not aware of paying tax.

How much can I receive?

Depending on our evaluation, you may receive a scholarship for the annual or 4-monthly subscription, as shown in the tiers below:

  • Not Eligible

  • Tier 1 = 15% Discount

  • Tier 2 (highest tier) = 30% Discount

You will receive a response within 10–20 business days of submitting your application.

Application confidentiality

Your information will be kept strictly confidential within iCanStudy PTY LTD for the sole purpose of assessing your application for the iCanStudy Financial Hardship Scholarship Program. The iCanStudy Financial Hardship Scholarship Program is founded on goodwill, and our mission is to help every student from all backgrounds access our program. Therefore, please do not be offended regarding the final tier you may be awarded. We follow the above application process for each candidate to describe their case-by-case circumstances for a fair and comprehensive review.

However, please keep in mind that the iCanStudy Financial Hardship Scholarship Program is meant for students in exceptional circumstances who cannot afford the program due to unfortunate circumstances or factors entirely out of their control.
